Kitchen Cabinet Calculator

Enter your wall lengths and appliance widths. You get the linear feet, a set of standard cabinet widths that fills the space, and a cost estimate.

How the kitchen cabinet calculator works

Cabinets are priced and planned by the linear foot of wall they cover. Measure each wall where base cabinets go, then subtract the width of anything that sits in that run: a range is usually 30", a dishwasher 24", and a refrigerator 36". Upper cabinets are measured the same way, skipping the window and the range hood.

Stock cabinets come in widths from 9" to 48" in 3" steps. The calculator splits each run into evenly sized boxes up to 36" wide and leaves less than 3" for a filler strip, which is how most kitchen layouts are finished. Enter the price per linear foot your supplier quotes to get the cost. Stock cabinets cost the least per foot, semi-custom more, and custom the most.
